Tracy's Story
A young mother healed...
Tracy, a young mother, was in excruciating pain from a serious oral infection and related dental problems. The pain she experienced each day led to a series of severe, debilitating migraines. Uninsured, unable to work and without the funds to visit a private dentist, she struggled to care for the problem on her own, using nearly an entire bottle of over-the-counter pain medication each day. Her condition led to difficulty with her equilibrium, and as a result she was unable to bend over and perform basic tasks around the house, including getting her daughter ready for school. The situation escalated to the point where she had to make the painful decision to send her daughter to live with relatives in a nearby city until her health improved.
Tracy's life changed the day she visited the volunteer dentists at Mission of Mercy.
Mission of Mercy was able to treat the oral infection and over several subsequent visits, we performed the dental procedures she so desperately needed.
Tracy is now pain free, happily employed as a nursing home assistant and reunited with her daughter. She credits the dedicated volunteers at Mission of Mercy with her new life.
