Administrative Office
Mission of Mercy Arizona has successfully maintained a volunteer program since its inception in 1997. Our organization is 95% volunteer-driven and is proud of its low turnover rate.
MOM-AZ currently has 240 active volunteers, but we are always in need of more talented and dedicated people to help us carry out our mission. All volunteers work under the caring and supportive supervision of our Medical and Nursing Directors. All necessary training will be provided.
For more information on non-medical volunteer opportunities listed below, email us or call 602.861.2233.
Following are general descriptions of some of the lay volunteer positions available with Mission of Mercy Arizona. Due to the service nature of our work, we do respectfully ask for a consistent commitment of time from our volunteers, depending on the nature of the job and location.
As part of the hospitality team at Mission of Mercy, you represent the link between the patient and the Mission of Mercy medical staff and volunteers. Your skill in putting the patient at ease by using a shared language to explain, inquire and discuss all of the issues around their patient visit is essential for the success of their experience with Mission of Mercy and our success in treating them and in restoring their dignity.
As part of the registration & hospitality team at Mission of Mercy, you represent the face and first impression for our patients. A welcoming face and warm greeting will begin a positive patient experience and supports our mission of restoring dignity and healing through Love.
As part of the logistics team at Mission of Mercy you will interact with both clinic staff and volunteers. Although you do not have direct patient contact in this position, you do handle patient files and patient data.
The medical mobile unit is a 38-foot Gulfstream Voyager RV. We prefer volunteer drivers be at least 30 and not more than 68 years of age with a clean driving record. Understandably, drivers must be extremely reliable in order for us to meet our clinic schedules and continue to provide care for our patients. Travel to and from the Franciscan Renewal Center in Phoenix is necessary each service day. All training will be provided upon completion of successful MVD and background check.
If you are an active or retired licensed medical professional, Mission of Mercy's mobile medical clinic could use your skills to help serve our patients, particularly if you are a physician, physician assistant, registered nurse, nurse practitioner, or pharmacist. Bilingual skills are a plus!
Volunteers are needed Tuesday - Thursday between 8am and 3pm. at any of our four clinic sites in central Phoenix, Maryvale, south Phoenix and Mesa.
